The Chartered Institute of Ergonomics and Human Factors (CIEHF) has awarded its publishing, design and media sales business to Redactive Media Group, with work beginning in October 2016.
CIEHF is a UK-based professional body with over 1,700 members; practitioners, academics, students and researchers working or studying in ergonomics and human factors or a related field. CIEHF’s principle means of communicating with members is through its magazine, The Ergonomist. Circulated to all members, including 250 overseas, the magazine is the leading information source for those working in the burgeoning field of human factors (how people behave physically and psychologically in relation to particular environments, products or services).
Redactive will lead CIEHF through a redesign of the magazine – including a change of frequency from monthly to bi-monthly and an increase in pagination – to develop the publication in line with the organisation’s Towards 2020 mission.
In the next four years, CIEHF aims to have greater, wider recognition as the authoritative source on ergonomics and human factors; have raised awareness of the importance and benefits of ergonomics and human factors at senior level; be influencing policy both nationally and internationally; be larger at every membership grade and be an organisation that people want to identify with, support and be part of. Redactive is looking forward to supporting CIEHF with this agenda, and will develop an integrated strategy to ensure that the publication is aligned with these ongoing objectives.
Aaron Nicholls, Director of Redactive, said: “We are very much looking forward to working with CIEHF on the redesign and development of its communication channels. CIEHF’s work complements that of many of our other professional body clients, such as the British Institute of Facilities Management and the Chartered Institution of Building Services Engineers. We will utilise our experience and expertise in working with these organisations and many other professional bodies to deliver improved member and stakeholder engagement and value for CIEHF.”
Stephen Barraclough, Chief Executive of CIEHF, said: “We believe Redactive bring the expertise, connections and determination to help us communicate better with our audience. Ergonomics & Human Factors has a pivotal role to play in modern life, and an enhanced magazine will serve to bring that realisation to an even wider audience.”
